Charlie Chaplin is perhaps the king of american cinema. His on screen persona as the little tramp is possibly the most recognizeable figure in movie history, and his writing and directing talents put him in a unique class which has never been rivaled. The Gold Rush is Chaplin at his very finest. His physical comedy powers are at their peak, while his ability to evoke more sensitive emotions are showcased here to their fullest. Partially filmed locally in the Sierra Nevada mountain range, this film features such memorable scenes as "eating the shoe", and "dancing dinner rolls". Georgia Hale is wonderful in the role of "Georgia" . This is a film to inspire, and we are proud to bring it back to the Crest Theatre with it's original 1926 soundtrack.(Not Rated, 1hr,35min)
