The Historic Crest Theatre needs your help

Music, comedy, and movies, these are the things I miss. My building sits empty, months now with no laughter, no screams, no belting out of favorite songs while world class performers do what they do best, entertain. Through it all, I miss you the most. While we are not an essential business, I do believe that what we do is essential. We are an escape. A few hours here feeds your soul, and having you here feeds our soul.

The saying goes, “If you find something you love to do, you’ll never work a day in your life.” I’m not sure who said it first, but I can tell you I love what I do. I have been in the business of entertaining people for 15 years. God willing, I’ll do it for many more. I have met thousands of talented artists from coffee shop locals to multi-grammy award winners, that love what they do as well. Right now, we can’t do what we love to do, so we wait for such a time when it is safe to do so.

But, this is all in jeopardy. Historic theatres have closed all around the country. Many will never re-open. I don’t want that to happen here. I will fight with everything I have to make sure it doesn’t. I need your help though, and that’s the thing. I can’t offer you entertainment right now. I can only offer gratitude, and an unwavering appreciation for your support. I know it’s not much. I know nobody posts a picture of random theatre guy’s appreciation on IG.

What I am asking is two-fold. First, I’m hoping to that you will able to donate just $1 to support the arts here at The Crest. If the people who see this donate $1, we can survive. Second, I’m hoping you’ll consider telling a friend, perhaps sharing this on your Facebook, Twitter, IG, or E-mail list if you have one. Together we can guarantee that when this is over, we have a place to smile again.

Be safe. Be good to one another.
